Illustrator J. Wecker Frisch works from her home studio
near St. Louis Mo. Janet attributes her artistic ability to
‘God given’ talent and values the early training she
received from her artist father, John F. Wecker. Formal
classes in commercial art accompanied by a twenty year art
based business was the path that led her to Art Licensing.

Janet’s work combines imaginary, realism and ‘retro
modern’ techniques that result in her own classic style. She
creates a visual record of memory, sentiment and study of
her surroundings, from a continual wellspring of
inspiration. Her character’s fun and funny faces are often
exclaimed to be a specialty that sets her apart. Strongly
influenced by vintage illustration, ephemera and antiques
also manage to find their place among favored subjects.

Janet enjoys licensing her art to a number of large
manufacturers. Her designs can be found on a variety
of products around the world. The opportunity to
connect with admirers through her images, continues to
be a pleasure as it fulfills a childhood dream.
